自我介紹
Hello! I’m Mika, a local guide passionate about sharing the hidden treasures of Kagawa Prefecture and the Seto Inland Sea. With years of experience, I’ve guided official tours during the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival 2022, introducing visitors to the enchanting islands of Shodoshima, Teshima, and Inujima. I also serve as a guide at the Shikokumura Museum, where I help visitors uncover the stories behind its captivating open-air exhibits, offering insights that make the scenery come alive in entirely new ways.
Kagawa, known as Sanuki in the samurai era, is a region steeped in history, art, and stunning natural beauty. Easily accessible via the Marine Liner train or Takamatsu Airport.
Highlights of Kagawa:
・Ritsurin Garden: A Michelin three-star certified Japanese samurai garden featuring 1,000 meticulously sculpted black pines—a true masterpiece of Edo-period landscape design.
・Kotohiragu Shrine: A sacred pilgrimage destination dedicated to the God of the sea, with sweeping views waiting at the top of its 785 steps.
・Yashima Area: Step into history at the site of a legendary 12th-century battle, soak in panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea, and explore the Shikokumura Museum and Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum.
・Island Adventures: Dive into the art and culture of Naoshima, Teshima, Shodoshima, and beyond, where contemporary installations blend seamlessly with the natural beauty and traditions of each island. Allow at least one full day per large island to truly appreciate its charm.
・Shikoku Pilgrimage: Explore the spiritual path of the 88-temple pilgrimage, closely tied to Kukai, who established the sacred sanctuary at Mt. Koya.
・Unique Experiences: Try your hand at making Sanuki Udon, stroll through Japan’s longest shopping arcade, or indulge in local delicacies like somen noodles, olive fed beef or fish!
I’d love to create an itinerary just for you, whether you’re drawn to art, history, nature, or delicious local cuisine. Let’s plan a journey that’s as unique and memorable as you can imagine.
